Autodesk Inventor Training  


Traning Dots Program Summary: This 28 hour hands-on course on Autodesk Inventor™ covers solids, parts and assemblies, editing of 3D models, creation of part drawings and plotting of part drawings. This course offers a comprehensive solution to those seeking to enhance their 3D design projects by incorporating Inventor’s 3D parametric feature based and adaptive technologies. It brings the designer up the learning curve from the basic 3D parametric technology to assembly modeling and finally to part drawings.

Who Should Attend?: This course is designed to bring the 3D designer or engineer to a productive level of experience. It is an appropriate course of all design disciplines that are intending on using parametric modeling as a basis for design content creation.

Program Prerequisites: A previous course in 3D Modeling or 6 months design experience using 3D based CAD software. This course is designed for those already accomplished at creating 3D models in AutoCAD® or other 3D CAD software packages. Experience using Windows-based operating systems is recommended.

Course Content: Launching Autodesk Inventor, User interface, function keys, basic 2D sketch features, file management commands, Inventor’s basic sketch profiles, 2D shape constraints, Boolean’s such as Join, Cut and Intersect. Extruded, revolved, and shelled features. Placed features such as parametric holes, fillets, chamfers, and patterns. Modifying the sketch and 3D solid part. Analyzing the part or assembly. Assembly modeling and organizational methods. Assembly constraints. Documentation and annotation of 3D assembly models.

Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you should be able to confidently create, edit, manipulate, analyze, dimension and produce 2D sketches and 3D parametric parts and assemblies. You will become proficient in basic 3D modeling techniques and will be familiar with Inventor’s Design Support System.

  • Develop a basic understanding of Autodesk Inventor.
  • Become familiar with the Inventor User Interface.
  • Understand the structure of the Autodesk Inventor environments.
  • Create 2D sketches using drawing creation tools and techniques.
  • Learn to build parametric models.
  • Learn to build parametric 3D assemblies
  • Create part and assembly drawings from 3D models
  • Properly manipulate the display tools.
  • Properly dimension and annotate drawings.
  • Develop a level of comfort and confidence with Inventor through hands-on experience.
