CNC G-Code Programming Training

CNC G-Code Programming Training Dots Program Objective: To train the student the basic techniques and applications for computer numerical control (CNC) programs to enhance professional job opportunities or to enable the student to re-enter the workforce. Click Here for a shorter version of the CNC G-Code Programming course without AutoCAD training.

Program Prerequisites: A high school diploma or GED, an entrance exam, an interview with a school administrator and employment in a design, engineering or machinists position or possession of sufficient occupational competencies is required. The program does not provide enough theoretical knowledge or practical experience for entry level employment in a new career.

Program Description: The CNC Programming curriculum concentrates on the use of the G code programming language to operate CNC machinery such as mills and lathes. Special computer software will be used to simulate tool paths for programs written in class. Students will learn to program and operate a computer, design a part on CAD, and complete the manufacturing process on CAM software. It also covers elementary computer aided manufacturing principles and methods with an emphasis in computer utilization. A portion of the program is an open lab for students to practice G-Code programming and perform simulation to further develop the skills presented.
