MSW01 Microsoft Word
  MS Word is the most popular word processing product in the marketplace today. In the Intermediate and Advance portions of the module, students learn additional tools available in Word, become skilled in techniques which allow them to work smarter, faster and more productive, and learn to customize the application for their own environment.

MSE01 Microsoft Excel  
  Excel, the most widely used spreadsheet application in the general marketplace, is covered in three modules. Introduction and Intermediate provide a comprehensive introduction to the most frequently used features and functionality of Excel. Advanced covers the most advanced techniques that enable the student to exploit the full potential of the application and explore the initial steps of Windows application development.

LE101 Law and Ethics  
  Students will receive an overview of the legalities and ethical behavior associated with a medical practice/facility. Included in this module are the legal terms associated with the medical environment and ethical issues covered under the AMA.

PD101 Professional Development  
  Students will explore professional opportunities within the field of healthcare and discuss the expectations of a Medical Assistant in each of the Healthcare settings.

QB100 QuickBooks *Evenings Only*  
  This course introduces the student to one of the most widely used bookkeeping software packages, Intuit’s QuickBooks. The QuickBooks training curriculum concentrates on the use of the software to cover standard bookkeeping principles and methodologies.

MBC 101 Medical Terminology  
  Provides the student with an understanding of basic prefixes, suffixes and root words as they are commonly applied to Dental and cardiovascular, lymphatic and respiratory systems.

MBC 201 Anatomy and Physiology  
  This course covers basic human anatomy and physiology with the objective of linking learned terminology to the bodily functions described.

MBC 102 Medical Billing and Coding  
  This course will prepare the student to understand and use ICD-9 (International Classification of Diseases, 9th Version, Clinical Modification) and CPT-4 (Current Procedural Terminology) medical codes for manual and computerized / electronic medical billing. The student will learn how to fill out and submit HCFA-1500 (Health Care Financing Administration) insurance claim forms as well as to perform electronic submissions using Medics Elite - ADS.

MBC 301 Medical Practice Management  
  This course will provide the student with a basic understanding of how medical and dental offices are managed. It will include descriptions of various health care environments, record keeping, scheduling, billing and other office management functions.

Program Schedule:
Day School -  Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - 10 weeks
Night School -  Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. - 20 weeks
