AutoCAD Training Dots Program Summary: This 50 hour hands-on course covers the basic AutoCAD commands necessary to create, edit and plot a drawing. Fundamental concepts of creating, editing, dimensioning, viewing, managing and plotting two-dimensional drawings will be covered.

Who Should Attend?: This course is designed to bring the drafter, designer, engineer or new user to a productive level of experience. It is an appropriate course of all design disciplines and for individuals who edit, view or work with others that create design content.

Program Prerequisites: No previous CAD experience necessary. However, drafting, design or engineering experience is a plus. A working knowledge of Windows-based operating systems is preferred.

Course Content: Launching AutoCAD 2002, AutoCAD menus, user interface, screen layout, drawing setup procedures, function keys, basic 2D drawing creation commands, file management commands, setting drawing precision, coordinate input systems, editing commands and features, setting and using layers, inquiring about drawing information, introduction to block creation, hatching, introduction to dimensioning techniques, drawing template creation, object snaps, display manipulation commands for object viewing, basic editing techniques, text annotation creation and usage, basic plotting techniques in model space and with paperspace layouts, page setups and plot style tables.

Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you should be able to confidently create, edit, manipulate, analyze, manage, dimension, and plot production 2D drawings.
